Prof. Boumediene Abdellaoui
Boumediene Abdellaoui is Full Professor of Mathematical Analysis and Applications at Aboubekr Belkaid University of Tlemcen (Algeria). He received his Ph.D. in Mathematical Analysis and Applications from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain) in 2003. From 2002 to 2006 he served as an associate professor in the Department of Mathematics at UAM (Madrid). He joined the University of Tlemcen in 2006 and was promoted to full professor in 2013.
Prof. Abdellaoui’s research lies in nonlinear analysis and partial differential equations. Among his principal scientific contributions are a classification of positive solutions of certain KPZ-type equations and refinements of local and nonlocal Hardy–Sobolev inequalities.
Prof. Abdellaoui has published more than 80 articles in peer-reviewed international journals and has supervised nine Ph.D. dissertations at the University of Tlemcen. From 2013 to 2020 he directed the Research Laboratory on Nonlinear Analysis and Applied Mathematics.
Prof. Abdellaoui has received several distinctions, notably the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Young Arab Researchers in Mathematical Sciences (2010) and the Maurice Audin Prize in Mathematics (2010), awarded jointly by SMAI (France) and the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. In 2015 he was selected as a founding member of the Algerian Academy of Science and Technology, and in January 2021 he was named a Fellow of the Pan-African Scientific Research Council.
He serves on the editorial board of Moroccan Journal of Pure and Applied Analysis (De Gruyter) since 2020 and of the Arabian Journal of Mathematics(Springer) since 2024. He has acted as referee for numerous international journals including Journal of Functional Analysis, Journal of Differential Equations, Transactions of the AMS, Nonlinear Analysis, Nonlinearity,Mathematische Annalen, NoDea,…. He leads several international collaborative projects with teams in Spain, Italy, France, Tunisia, Morocco and Chile.
