Rachid Gherbi is a professor of computer science at the University of Paris-Saclay, France, since 1988. He is a expert in the metaverse, virtual and augmented reality, and in immersive and int9elligent technologies. An USTHB engineer, he obtained his Master and PhD in computer vision in 1992 at the University of Paris-Sud. He obtained his HDR (Habilitation to manage research) in 2001 at the same university on data science representation and the processing ofiolo'polcomplex data in Human-Computer Interaction. He co-founded and directed several research groups in the LIMSI CNRS Orsay and Genopole Evry laboratories. He has supervised a dozen Ph.Ds and twenty Masters, and published a hundred international papers. Several projects funded at national and European level were managed by Rachid Gherbi, as academic as well socio-economic impact. He organized several conferences and spring and summer schools. He was Visiting Professor at Concordia University (Canada) in 2005. Since the end of 2014, he has been very active in Algeria at the state level where he is an expert at the DRGSDT, appointed in particular to the Permanent Sectoral Committee of the MESRS (Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research). He is currently the head of CU-PUIO (Pôle Universitaire d'Ingénierie d'Orsay) at the University of Paris-Saclay. Moreover, Rachid Gherbi is very active in civil society circles in France and Algeria. He is a board member of OSHI (Organisation Solidarité Humanitaire Internationale), president of the Nourdance association, and recently founder and co-president of the Science&Media club

Benallouche Yacine is currently working for Orange Innovation in the Paris area as a Senior R&D Engineer. With more than 20 years of experience in mobile networks, project management, and research projects, he also serves as Orange’s delegate at ETSI and is actively involved in emerging initiatives such as 6G network studies, Data and AI Governance, AI for next-generation network automation, and Observability.

Yacine has extensive experience in technology transfer projects and research valorization, and possesses solid expertise in patents, intellectual property, and standardization, with a proven track record of supporting innovation and ensuring compliance in technological developments.

In addition, he has been serving as a Professeur des Universités at University Sorbonne Paris Nord since September 2015. He received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines in November 2010, his Master’s degree in Computer Science from the Pierre and Marie Curie University (UPMC) in France in September 2004, and his Engineering degree in Telecommunications from the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene (USTHB) in Algiers, Algeria, in 2002.
